10 Halloween Costumes Anyone Can Pull Off

Your last summer vacation feels like it was years ago and yet, it’s still hard to believe that it’s October—next month brings us Thanksgiving, after that we have Hanukkah and Christmas, and then it’s on to a whole new year! But before you start carving turkeys and singing “Jingle Bell Rock”, remember you’ve still got Halloween to conquer. First things first: What will you wear? Here’s our top 10 ideas for Halloween costumes that anyone of any age will have no problem pulling off:

Take a Trip to Neverland

Wendy, Peter Pan, the Lost Boys, Tiger Lily, Tinkerbell, Captain Hook, even Mr. and Mrs. Darling—each character can stand alone but also work for a group setting. What’s more is that most of them just require regular clothing, which means no shopping for you. What’s stopping you from paying tribute to this iconic and magical tale?

Masquerade Madness

Are you all about the glitz and glam? Snag a mask from your local craft store and then get yourself all dolled up. If you can convince your beau to join you and rock a suit, even better.

Become Part of the Addams Family

If you consider yourself to be creepy, kooky, mysterious, spooky, and altogether ooky, you’re a natural fit for the Addams family! Wear all the black you own and your best creepy smile (P.S. We think your shaggy dog would make the perfect Cousin Itt).

Where’s Waldo?

A true classic. And hey, no one will notice if you sneak out of the party early either.

Turn Your Feelings Inside Out

Go ahead, wear your heart on your sleeve and channel your truest emotion. The characters from the acclaimed Disney Pixar movie Inside Out are new to the costume circuit and give you an excuse to get your rage on or incessantly jump for joy.

This one’s a no-brainer (get it?): Your two must-haves are a flannel shirt and a floppy hat, although some jeans and boots wouldn’t hurt either. Draw some stitches on your face with eyeliner and you’ll be good to go.

Mime It Out

The perfect option for all you introverts: Pull on a striped shirt and cover your face in white, red, and black! You won’t even have to say a word—just let the costume speak for itself (see what we did there).

Mock a Minion

PSA: Overalls are coming back into style and we’re pretty sure the Minions have something to do with it. Whether you were Team Oshkosh or rocked the Gap label, pull your favorite overalls out of storage and strap them on over a yellow shirt for a silly costume kids will love.

Get Your Smurf On

Blue and white. Could it be easier? It’s okay if you don’t want to cover yourself in paint, though—the right accessories (like black, round glasses and a book for Brainy Smurf) will tie your whole look together.

Be a Party Animal

Take a walk on the wild side and add your own twist to a classic costume. Whether it be insane makeup, fastening antlers you found on the side of the road to a headband, or a killer fur coat à la Macklemore, being a lion, tiger, or bear (oh my!) will be anything but cliché.
